Marker Storage

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would show a few projects I have worked on lately. First is a storage system for all my copics and promarkers. Its made with 5.5" lengths of downspout bought from home depot and crazy glued together. The best part...I can add to it when I need more space!

Next is a altered can I made for a swap, filled with handmade flowers

And last...a wedding cake I made for a friend last week

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there. I had a great day...I got to sleep in, woke up to a clean house and pretty much spent the day relaxing and playing outside with the kids :) I did manage to get a layout done, this was inspired by another layout I seen a long time ago (well the title is anyways).

Now I just have to find the right photos for the layout...

Some new creations...

I am currently working one several different swaps, one of my favorites right now is a American Themed swap...even though I am not american (the person who is making things for me, will be making summer themed items), I am sure enjoying playing with the red, white and blue colours. I thought maybe this swap would be a little hard for me, since at first I had trouble finding american themed scrapbooking stuff...but instead I just went with the colours, and stopped looking for actual american items.

I am not going to post all the items I made for that american swap, because I don't know if my secret sister is reading my blog...but I wanted to post two of my favorite so far (I am not done making items yet!). And a couple cards I have also made recently...

So behind...

I haven't posted in a while, I have been so busy with home renovations, Easter weekend and a darn sinus cold that just won't go away!

But I was FINALLY able to get a layout done today, even though the weather has been so gloomy and rainy (makes me want to sleep).

This is a layout on my oldest son's 5th birthday:

More sweets...

So I have done a few more cupcakes and a cake. The pool ball cupcakes was for my Mom's boyfriends birthday. They are Peanut butter chocolate chip cupcakes with chocolate buttercream and fondant on top. They were fun to make!

And next is a Pink, Green and zebra stripe birthday cake for my friends little girl, who just turned 5. I made matching cupcakes to go with it :)

Handmade flowers

I've been playing around with making my own flowers. This are completely made of white paper, LOTS of blue and pearl Glimmer Mist, Broken China Distressed Ink,  and I used Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die and a Martha stewart punch for the centres. Oh and I added a tiny bit of the new dark blue stickles to the centres also!

I am so pleased with how they came out!
And my newest layout of my daughter...

STSB Swap (Cricut Messege board)

I took part in the latest round of the STSB (Stuff that shoebox) swap, were you take a box...which doesn't have to be a shoebox, or even a box for that matter...then you are given 20 days of words (for example: Metal Mainia) and you have to buy/make a item that would match that day, tag it and put it in the box.

Here is the box I recieved from TU, its beyond amazing...she picked items that are perfect for me, I cannot believe how much thought she put into this box!

My box....which was a green recycling box to match my scrapbook room, and all my amazing goodies that came in it!!!

The start of my Scrapbook room makeover!

I am far from done, but at least I have the painting done. I painted it to match my green expression I got for Christmas (which also matches my cuttlebug and my gypsy cover). I bought a new white blind (used to be blue!), painted the shelves on the wall, all trim, doors and peg boards white.

I still have to buy fabric for the valance, need to find something with green, white and pink in it (pink is my accent colour). Also want to get a new carpet, white padded stool, and hubby is going to sand down and repaint both my desks, cabinet and paper unit white.

I cannot wait until its all done!!!

Altered Notebook to match the can

I decided to alter a notebook to go inside the paint can...but that didn't work, it doesn't fit! LOL, oh well, it will go in the box with the can!

Another Paint can...

This is for a paint can swap (on the cricut.com messege board). It will be filled with goodies for my partner. This is my first full size can, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. It took me 3 days, and several different attempts. (Even longer to find the 'perfect' paper for it!)

I hope my partner likes it as much as I do :)

Its been a few days...

Its been a crazy few days, between stomach bugs, head colds, coughs and even pink eye...I haven't had much time to even get into my scrapbook room, never mind get some work done. But I finally got a couple quick cards done today!

I cannot believe I have 18 followers!!! (huge waves to you all!) I think when I hit 25 followers I will have some blog candy to give away.

So here are the cards I made, first one is for my son to take to a birthday party tomorrow...my son (who is 6) help me design the card, and cut the spaceship himself on my cricut.
And second is a card I made for a swap, we were given instruction on how to make this 'chalkboard' card...after several attempts I finally have one I am comfortable sending to my partner!

Blogging and Goals...

I think having a blog is really going to help me, I set myself a goal in the new year...to complete at least 1 card and 3-5 layouts a week. I have 'sort of' been sticking to that goal, but I think having this blog and trying to show a couple items a week on here...maybe it will push me to be a little more creative :)

Today, while doing laundry (my scrapbook room is attached to my laundry room) I completed a layout today, I am very SLOWLY catching up on my daughters book, I think I am only about 3 months behind now. Now if only I could catch up on my boys, my oldest is 8 and I think the last layout I did he was only 5 in it *Yikes!* And my other two boys, they are at least 1-2 years behind also.

So here is my layout, from this past Halloween...my daughters first trip to the Pumpkin Patch:

Yum! Cakes...

I thought I would show off a couple cakes I have done in the last few months. This is just a hobby for me, I make cakes, cupcakes, cookies and chocolates for family, friends and even friends of friends. I have TWO pretty large weddings coming up...I can't wait!

This was the cake and cupcakes I made for my daughters 1st birthday this past december, her party theme was Ladybugs, I made ALL her decorations with Walk In My Garden!

This is a cake I made for my photographer, who is also a teacher (and loves purple!) I will be making her wedding cake this coming June!!!

First paint can swap

I joined my first paint can swap on the Cricut messege board. After googling altered paint cans for a couple days....this is what I came up with!

I always have a heck of a time opening these damn cans, so while decorating it I couldn't get it open...I reached for the first thing I thought would open it, which happened to me a Tim Holtz metal key. It worked perfectly, so I thought why not add a chain (also Tim Holtz) and connect it to the handle, this way my partner who is going to recieve the can always has something on hand to help open it :)

Anyways, here is my finished can (filled). My partner said she loved pink, butterflies and girly stuff. I really hope she likes it (and doesn't see this! LOL)

First blog post!!!

Yippe! I finally decided to start my own blog, not sure how well its going to turn out since I really hate writing (and I suck at it!) but I thought at least I can post some of my projects, and maybe get a few followers!

So here is my first project, these are wooden letters I painted, modge podged paper to the fronts and used my Cricut to cut the flowers.
